Tried doing a search for this topic, no luck. I saw the thread about priceline.com, but I was wondering if anyone knows of some other ones that is better. My hubby was told a name of a website where they got much cheaper rate and was the same seats. It was written on a piece a paper, of course, it's lost now, and we need it!
Anyway, just wondering if anyone knows of some other ones.....I want to say the name of it was something like airline_______something. Had the word airfare, airline, something like that .com. Any ideas?
Try cheaptickets.com, cheapflights.com, expedia.com...Also, if you know your trip date in advance, try to reserve tickets earlier, or try to go off-season. It's cheaper...
Yes, you never know which site will have the best price, because none of the sites are equal in terms of airline or consolidator deal.
ITA compares airline fares. Booking buddy is a good tool because it compares quite a few sites at a time.
But Lastra is correct, a very good way to get bargain deals is to travel in the off season, or at least the shoulder season. This is difficult for people with kids in school, but if you can arrange it, May is a really good time to travel, it can be a lot cheaper. Just a week or so can make a big difference in price (and of course, traveling midweek instead of weekends.)
Ive been to orbitz.com and their prices seemed higher. If I know I can afford to add another day to my schedule, then will go to priceline because you can 'name your price' there, 'up to' 40% off. Bear in mind there will be stipulations though, that can cost you an extra day. But usually, Southwest works for me.
I always use airlinecity.com -- you simply type your city and destination and dates and it gives you all the airlines that fly it and you can adjust it by time of day or you can remove certain airlines from your search--and it lets you buy it directly from the airline which is oftentimes cheaper--the site puts you through automatically. for european flights, i used to use terminala.com--though haven't used them in a while--airlinecity is worldwide.
