Hi there,

I am planning to take the bus from LA to LV. It s my first time I am in the US, traveling from Europe. There are a few questions I would be really appreciated If any of U would help me find out the answer from your experience. You guys surely know Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and LA much better than me.

1) On this website I see the bus going from Downtown LA to LV, which bus stop I should get off and then go to the hotel close to the place where the main attractions are located ? (club hotel or LV blvd?)
Bus from Los Angeles to Las Vegas - GotoBus

2) Do U guys have some good and cheap hotel to recommend? I stay there for 3 days.
3)Do I need a car to get around LV? I am having problem with the public transportation here in LA ...Hope I could be better in LV?
4) How much would it cost me to take a taxi from LV blvd to get back to the airport ? or Can I use the bus or something like that to get back to the LV Air port? is it far from the city? To take the bus or to drive, how much time I should count with it? my flight back is at 4 pm.

5) I am thinking to buy a tour ticket to go to Grand canyon, and company U would recommend?

Thanks so much for your help. There are different info about my questions but I would really appreciate to hear your opinion and recommendations.

Thanks so much in advance.

1/ LV Blvd is the "Strip" and is where all of the major hotels, casinos are located.
2/ I don't know. I do know that the major hotels run specials and Sun-Thu nights are usually the cheapest (barring any holidays or other events which could boost the demand for rooms and raise prices.)
3/ If you go to the Strip and stay on the Strip and close by - no car is needed. Taxis will be enough.
4/ You can use a taxi and McCarran Airport is very close to the Strip (less than 3 miles, if I recall). Cost would be about $15-$18.
I would leave about 90 minutes before your flight departs, maybe 120 minutes before, to be safe, as Strip traffic does get heavy. The taxi driver can take an alternate route, though.

I was in this situation back in March/April and it was exhausting and long.

Circus Circus and the Excalibur (wannabe Disneyland, castle style hotel) was where we stayed but we did not care about the surroundings. We needed cheap instant rooms. If you need luxury, disregard my choices and look elsewhere.

Because someone else is driving, it's pretty much luck of the draw. Be prepared for a very moody or instable driver or a very cold or heated bus. No can do.

Try American Lion. That's what I took. For $20, we weren't losing much.
