I have a B1/B2 visa and used it for the first time last month.
I was in the USA for 10 days and now I am obviously back home (in the UK)
I just noticed that the I-94 form that they staple/attach to my passport is still there. There is a stamp on it for the admittance but also I think for the exit? (which is Feb 2013)
should they not have done something with that I-90 form? I mean should it remain on my passport?
I dont want this to cause a problem when I am in the US again next month or even the future.
any help or advice is appreciated.

What "they"? There's no government passport control when exiting the U.S. You mean the airline rep at the check-in counter? They should have taken it, but they're not DHS.
well I contacted a lawyer over here and he said that the I-94 is being phased out. but also that it shouldn't matter because I will be heading to the US again next month so that trip/I-94 card will superceed the old trip. The old trip exit/dept stamp is for Feb 2013.
but he said just in case, keep a record of evidence you were in the UK after you left the US - and I have that. so shouldnt be a problem he said.
Actually you are the one who should give it back before leaving the US. You take it out of your passport and leave it when boarding. Noone will ever ask you, you have to do the thinking.
Ultimately, it's not a big deal. They may give you a hard time about it, but there's no impact. Moving forward, when you get on the plane to leave, give it to the gate agent when you are boarding.
As an informed traveler, just as you're supposed to know what visas are required where. No instructions came with the form? Instructions at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id...ng_out_i94.xml state "The bottom section of CBP Form I-94 is a departure record and must be returned to U.S. officials upon exiting the United States. "
Regardless, my reading of https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/det...l-have-my-i-94 (what to do if you forgot to turn in your form) is that you don't need to worry. "If you departed by a commercial air or sea carrier (airlines or cruise ships), your departure from the U.S. can be independently verified, and it is not necessary to take any further action, although holding on to your outbound (from the U.S.) boarding pass - if you still have it - can help facilitate your reentry next time you come back to the United States."
