I was there during a day some years ago, the village is very beautiful and you can see the red iron goat in the mountains. There are plenty of elegant shops of expensive brands and little cute houses...
About the party I am not sure but I guess it is not a very party place due to the size of the area and Austria is not a very party country.
I haven't been to Kitzbuhel before but did take a ski holiday to Innsbruck about ten years ago and it was excellent. My wife isn't much of a skier so Innsbruck offered a lot more for us to see and do. We both skied two days and I skied a third while she snowshoed. Overall the skiing was good...far better than east coast US but the snow simply can't compare to the Rockies. Scenery was fabulous. Innsbruck provided a nice base as a mid-sized city with a great Old Town and also proved to be well located for a couple of side trips to Venice and to Oberammergau/Neuschwanstein (sp?) Castle. We weren't there for a party scene but understood that some clubs would start hopping in the evening. We did enjoy some great food there, however! It was an excellent vacation and I would recommend taking a hard look at Innsbruck as your base if you're interested in doing more than skiing for your holiday.
