How do you know how many air miles you will be rewarded for a trip you have yet to take?
For example, I booked a journey through US and British Airways (both part of dividend miles program) that is Toronto-Philadelphia-Brussels and then the return leg is the same in reverse. Both of these are in the winter. Is there some sort of calculator for this? I googled for one but got nothing. I am a little over 14,000 miles now already, so pretty soon I have a roundtrip somewhere nice on the house! It would be nice to figure out what to expect from this set of flights.
And it says YYZ-PHL-BRU gets you 4096 one way/8192round trip.
You can pick up a few thousand miles through careful use of shopping portals and other small activities to to get to 25K and chase a saver level award ticket.
With US you will get the full number regardless of class of booking. If you have Gold or above level in the FF program you can earn additional miles up to 100% for Chairman's.
Additionally US airways offers a minimum of 500 miles per segment--at least for preferred's. If everyone gets them or the OP is at least a Silver, the actual number will be slightly higher than stated above.
