U.S. get visa waiver for travel to Brazil Olympics

Great news! Brazil is one of the few countries where we need a visa in advance in order to visit, which turns off many prospective visitors. And airfare is currently very cheap.

Nice!

From the article:

The waiver will apply only for tourist visits between June 1 and Sept. 18, with visitors allowed to stay for up to 90 days.

This is awesome but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to take advantage. :/ I got real excited when it started popping up on my newsfeed and then I remembered we just had a baby and are already having a tough time fitting in an Asia trip into our schedule this summer.

I'm trying to understand the wording on that. Could someone enter anytime between those dates and stay 90 days? Like, could someone enter in August and stay for 90 days? Or stay past September 18th? I think so, but I'll have to get clarified. I hope the visa-free thing is in effect as long as you enter between those dates.

I'm thinking about going. Been wanting to go but didn't want to go through the visa process. And airfare is cheap right now for that time period.
