Anyone have experience with getting a multiple-entry visa to Kenya from the NYC consulate?

Do they offer expedited service? How much and how long does it take? What do I need to bring?

Do they offer VOA?

The website is helpful somewhat but the information seems old and no one picked up the phone there.

Do they do that for multiple entry?

Here's the sitch: going to Kenya from NYC for 6 days, then going to South Africa for 4 days, then coming back to Kenya for only 1 (leaving the airport) … now I am thinking can I get away with a Single Entry Visa coming from NYC and then a Transit Visa from SA (since Transit is good for 72 hrs?)

I am thinking maybe we don't need the multiple entry? Do you know?

Consulate not very helpful since they didn't answer and I called before 1 ...

You can get a single entry and a transit visa from the website. It is cheaper than the multi entry visa ($100)

FYI, You gonna need yellow fever vaccine certificate going from Kenya to South Africa.

I am doing 2 countries as well but do the opposite. I am going to Cape town for 6 days and then Kenya for 6 days. I don't have to get the yellow fever certificate since South Africa is outside the yellow fellow zone.

And my re-entry would just be a transit visa then?

Yes, the South African immigration will ask for yellow fever vaccine since you are staying and coming from a country in the yellow fever zone (Kenya).

You have no problem going back to the States from Kenya because the States have no requirement for yellow fever vaccine

That is why I am going to South Africa first.

You can get the vaccine in Kenya cheaply but the problem is the certificate only becomes effective 10 days after getting vaccinated and you are only in Kenya for 6 days.

Getting yellow vaccine in the States is expensive and hard to find.

Nah I don't trust doctors there and we will be on safari, so I'll just do it here in NYC.

Apparently the CDC has a list of places in NYC that do it … it's NYC, somewhere should have it.

Siiiigh, didn't know. You did it the smart way. Thank you so much for the info!
