I travel to Cincinnati to visit my family every so often, and I travel on I-75 from Atlanta through Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Lexington to get there. I love this drive, as it is very scenic, especially from just north of Atlanta to Berea, KY, where the interstate travels through the Cumberland Plateau. My favorite stretch, however, is from the Caryville/La Follette area to the KY state line at Jellico. I was curious as to who else enjoys this stretch of I-75? Also, any other scenic areas that y’all enjoy driving through on this stretch?
I was happy once they completed that stretch of I-75 and you did not have to drive substantial potions of the drive on US 25 E/W through Kentucky.
When rockslides happened along the stretch of I-75 between Caryville/La Follette and Jellico, US 25W was always a good alternative, as it was quite relaxing to drive a little slower and take a little more time going through the mountains. But for the sake of driving time, I definitely agree with you.
