I like Holiday Inn, for what it is. Most of the ones I've been to are nice. Actually the best one I been to so far was in Birmingham, AL (of all places). All amenities, totally accomodating. In some cases they surpass the Radisson, other times they are similar or come close. Depends on the hotel I guess

But, in other cities...it never fails they are out of Queen beds. I end up getting the 2 doubles instead, and its just me. I think I've stayed 3-4 times in the past month. I would say its because of where I've booked, but even when I inquire at check in, they are usually sold out.

Any ideas why?

I have never been a fan of Holiday Inns because you never know which one will be a new property and a top rate place and which one will be a bareful refurbished Holidome from the 70's. Having said that, my experiences recently have been really positive.

I would recommend two things. First, join the Priority Club if you have not already. They are really pushing the loyalty program these days.

Second, I would recommend that you call teh property direct a couple of days before you get there and confirm whether they can offer you the room that you want.

^^What JL said, especially Priority club. HI are not my first choice for reasons above, but they have been improving/remodeling a lot on the last few years.
