As of now, there is no record of this perp being a child molester/sex offender ... and yet in broad daylight, in front of other people, he abducts a 10 year old girl and she is found murdered in his home hours later. And he has also been working at a school. I am going to be curious about what else comes out about this guy.
It makes me think of the Danielle van Dam case - in which their neighbor David Westerfield abducted her from their home and murdered her, and he also did not have any prior record of such crimes.
I just loved that this guy entered a not guilty plea. I really can't wait to hear his defense. "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, while the victims body was found in the defendants basement and the defendant was seen fleeing the scene after snatching the victim from the street, it must all be a case of mistaken identity and shoddy police work, as my client is completely innocent of these baseless charges....".

After I posted this thread, I went to read some information on David Westerfield, as I used him as example of someone who had no history of violent crimes or crimes against children.
Apparently, in the case of David Westerfield, they did find what appeared to be some images of either child or teen pornography amongst his huge computer porn collection. There was debate in the trial as to whether the photos were actually of people who were underage.
This would be consistent with what I have read about those who abduct and then rape/murder children- this urge begins with fantasy, progresses to heavy porn use (as its a way to indulge the fantasy without having actual contact with a child) and eventually the person feels they cannot be satisfied by "simply" fantasizing about the act, but must engage in the act.
I'm generally not in favor of the death penalty, but this is definitely a case were it is sorely needed. No question of guilt, no mitigating circumstances. This was about as horrendous of an act as is possible.
This was so brazen, in broad daylight, and to take a child back to his home, and then to have all that bleach and other supplies, it makes it seem unlikely that this was his first time doing something like this.
I wonder if they will end up tying any other cases to him.

That poor child. What a sick bastard. He didn't need to murder her. He's a sociopath who's sexual orientation is towards children. He didn't choose that. he was born that way. It's in his genetics. Just like a homosexual doesn't choose(homosexuality is victim-less, unlike this) The porn didn't lead to him doing that. The porn probably slowed him down. He was using the child porn as a way to try to control his animal urge's. Like you said, eventually he lost it and couldn't control it. Sort of like a vampire or a heroin addict needing his fix. The scary part is that people are actually born like that. Don't believe the nonsense about pedophiles being molested as children. That's just a way to deflect blame. It's a manipulation tactic. Thankfully it's very rare that a pedophile actually murders the child. Oh and a true pedophile is someone who is attracted to PRE-pubescent children. Someone in their mid-late teens is not a biological child. If there's a question as to whether the people in the porn are legal, then trust me, it's not true child porn. Underage legally maybe, but not true child porn. If someone is attracted to a 16 year old then their also attracted to a 22 year old or a 28 year old. Puberty has occurred. Someone who is turned on by a 10 year old has no outlet, except for children that age.
