Does anyone have any thoughts on this investigation?
JFYI- there are alot more in depth articles and videos availabe on the case. The link is more like just an overview.
It's going in the same direction as the murders of Lyric Cooke and Elizabeth Collins in Evansdale, Iowa on Friday July 13, 2012. In each case two girls put themselves in an isolated location of a public park. Their bodies were found. No suspects.
A real nightmare. I hope this one can be pieced together.
I doubt it will be solved before it happens again. Investigators have the suspect's voice and image, and they have not been able to identify him. It's quite possible that the man behind this looks quite different in his everyday life, and that he dressed as he did that afternoon to obscure his real identity.

Yeah, I don't know how they came up with that composite looking at that obscured picture, but better than no picture.

The composite is based on information provided by someone who also saw him on the trail that day.
The case is just bizarre...a straightforward abduction and murder in a secluded wooded area isn't the case here. The girls were apparently abducted at the end of the bridge and taken to a private property across the street from another the private property bordering the trail. Held, tortured and murdered in a barn on that property and then after searchers had left the area for the night, the bodies were then moved to a secluded area of the private property nearest to the trail. Law enforcement has apparently eliminated the possibility of a catfish.
It's truly a mystery.

This makes more sense about the composite -thanks. What's this about a catfish? mutilated bodies or something gory?

A "catfish" is someone who pretends online to be someone other than who they really are generally for the purpose of online dating.
Like catfishing would be a reasonable explanation for how these events happened....Middle age man poses as a teen from another school in order to meet up with one of the two girls before valentines day. She takes her friend because that's what young girls do.
Apparently not the case on this one tho.
