I don't think you can make the argument that something backed by corporations will be more biased than something owned by states. The motive of a corporation is to make money (which can lead to bias I'll admit) but one motive of governments is shaping public opinion...so I'm not saying our private media is free of spin but it's no worse than the media elsewhere.

Also, I could be wrong, but isn't the BBC a company?

Before deciding she most certainly IS guilty maybe you should check out some more information regarding the Italian justice system. I've done a lot of reading, NOT on our typical media web sites, but reading about other prisoners in the same prison in Perugia, other cases this so called prosecutor has tried, including the Monster of Florence. Maybe everyone who is so jaded either way should do some research before deciding they know she's guilty.

Taking these people at their word is irresponsible. What they have done in this case and 1000's of others is twist the evidence, alter the evidence, tamper with the evidence, allow jurors to be jaded by public opinion/media bashing of the cute American wh*re, etc.

Check out some stories about prisoners being beaten to death by the guards, about the total lack of justice there.

They may call themselves a serious court but the only thing they are serious about is gaining rank in their careers!!!

Don't believe me? Think I'm just worried about the WHITE girl? LOL Amusing actually when people throw the race card out there...shows me they fear something in themselves...I never said a thing about her race, simply that the trial wasn't fair and for all I know it wasn't fair for Guede (sp?) either. I haven't gotten to reading about his trial yet. I do have a life but this story has captivated me so much I have bought the book The Monster of Florence so I can read about this prosecutor.

Curious things happen in Italy regarding trials, jurors that speak out (ever looked to see why some have mysteriously died or disappeared?), evidence being lost, NO COPIES OF THE ORIGINAL QUESTIONING (this case, Amanda)---the tapes simply disappear....

The farther you dig the more you realize that there is no justice in Italy, or maybe SOME justice, until they try you again because there is no double jeopardy in Italy. You are aquitted, they can come after you years and years later.

I just read more about this story and it's heartwrenching. I feel so bad for this Knox girl to have to spend 26 years in an Italian prison. Poor girl has her entire life ahead of her, hopefully something will reverse the decision to let her come back to the US.

Never! Take the Duke Lacross scandal for instance. The Media and activists like Al Sharpton sure got it right that time. Ohh wait! Oops!.

Maybe they'll let the Kercher girl go back to her family in Britain too?

Oh wait a minute, she's dead. Slaughtered like an animal. Took 20 minutes to bleed to death.

Never mind.

Ya know...it's rude to react like that when someone actually shows sadness for a 22 year old girl locked in a foreign prison on what is most likely B.S! That is NOT to say that people, me included, do not care what happened to Meredith Kercher...that "Kercher girl" was murdered and I feel for her family as well, as I'm sure that most everyone else does as well.

That doesn't mean we can't care about the defendant(s) as well. All of them were young people who have lost their youth, as well as a great portion of their lives!

Thank you!

We all care about what happened to the Kercher girl but I care about a young and vibrant girl having to waste what should be the best years of her life in sub-human conditions! The entire court case was a travesty from the tampered evidence to coerced confessions, it was ridiculous! At least if she was in the US, she would've been given a fair trial which most likely the jury would've acquitted her because much of the tainted evidence would not have been presented.

Why should we be sad that a 22 year girl who murdered her British roommate in a sex game with two other men, got caught, blamed her Black employer (the bar owner who was arrested and later exonerated), made out with her boyfriend at the crime scene, came to court everyday looking like she was going to do laundry instead of dressing appropriately and was then convicted on the evidence of her guilt (along with her co-horts) sits in an Italian prison as a punishment for her crime?

You know who I feel sorry for? The family of Meredith Kercher who will never see their 22 year old daughter again. The family who had to sit through a trial hearing the details of how their daughter was murdered. Those are the people who deserve the outpouring of compassion, not her murderer.

No fingerprints or DNA belonging to Knox was ever found in the room where Kercher was murdered. In fact, the only fingerprint in the entire house attributed to the Seattle native was on a drinking glass in the kitchen sink...

There is not much forensic evidence, no clear murder weapon, no motive, and no confession as to what really happened the night of Nov. 1, 2007...

Forensic specialists have testified that the investigators made grave errors in collecting evidence—including not changing gloves between samples. And there are significant questions about some of the lab work...
