[quote=OneDayAttaTime;6713209]What kind of things do you see as an opportunity when others call it a problem?

I thought about answering this with specific situations, but I realized that I can't. I know it may seem corny to some of you, but I have always looked at every "problem" as an opportunity. I enjoy the challenge of coming up with solutions to all kinds of issues. (Sometimes I think I may even subconsciously create problems when I'm bored just so I have something to do...gee, I hope that's not true)

Using my endless supply of cliches, I constantly try to teach my children that you are judged best by how you respond to adversity. I consider my greatest challenge in life is to raise responsible, generous, loving children.

Geez...sounds like more "Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy"...sorry.

years and years ago, when I was a Union carpenter, I had a supervisory job building a really large building. the company had a dozen such projects around the country and there was a senior superintendent who would come in every two weeks or so to see how things were going. Although he wasn't all that bright (he drank Lone Star Beer), when I asked him how he handled problems he simply said "I fire them." When I asked him to explain, he said that the only real problems originate with people. If you have a problem developing, locate the person or person creating that problem, fire them/terminate their contract, and get someone else.

Opportunities are simply challenges that haven't been met or the potential fulfilled. Problems are people who don't need to be kept around......they have no relationship to each other.
