I caught this just as I was ushering out Showtime and greeting HBO.

Now I wish I had showtime back because I really liked this show.

I don't have pay TV but watch pay shows on DVDs when they come to the library. Does this about sum up the show?

Summary:
An erotically charged, profoundly unsettling new saga that completely reinvents literature's most iconic and terrifying characters. Dorian Gray, Victor Frankenstein, and timeless figures from Dracula join a core of original characters in a dark and brutal quest to save a soul, even as they grapple with their own monstrous temptations.

Contents:
Night work -- Seance -- Resurrection. Demimonde -- Closer than sisters -- What death can join together -- Possession. Grand guignol --

Kind of sort of but not really. It's not as sensational as most current reinventions. If your a Victorian purist it might stray too far but its definitely not the cheesy modern take on past literary figures we've been subjected to the last 20 years or so.

Looks like reanimated Brona isn't too crazy about her intended. I feel so sorry for John Clare/Caliban. I thought it was so touching when Miss Ives spent time speaking to him and complimented him on his beautiful eyes. Lord knows, he has had little kindness, especially from that twit Dr. Frankenstein.

I really like this show - glad it was renewed for a 2nd season.

It's a great cast of actors, and I do like the story line.
