Any thoughts on the season premier? for all they hype about it thought it was kind of dull, and just some of the scenes pretty dumb. I still cant get past the club operating a ice cream shop along a main street and the towns people being ok with it.. I do love this show but its really not all that realistic, it used to be when they just had the garage, now they have the porn business the ice cream shop.. im kind of glad its the last season, no where else for the show to go..

It was dull, more of the same. Ramping up the violence is not a good look. I didn't even watch the last scene where they tortured the guy. I just hope they catch Jemma and the boys get away from the life. Imo, last season wasn't done well. I'm sticking it out til the end because it was a good run.

I thought it was pretty good!
I agree there were a few too many fluff scenes last night but I think the violence was necessary to show the extent of Jax's transformation. Losing Tara just really pushed him over the edge. I think this whole season is going to be like that as we watch Jax's self destruction. I'm glad its the last season too because there is no where else for this story to go after Jax destroys himself and well hopefully Gemma. lol.

Agreed, the episode was meh. The initial seen with Jax torturing the fellow inmate was too gruesome! I just hope it gets better instead of worse from here.

I didn't watch the last scene either. All I know is Gemma needs to go down for what she did.

I stopped watching this show in Season 5. The story completely lost me.

I loved the show at first, because it was about a guy (Jax) who had grown up in this horrible world of an outlaw gang, and he was trying to find a way out. I sympathized with him.

But Jax kept making dumb decision after dumb decision and refusing to pull his head out of his hindquarters. I lost all sympathy with him and everyone else on the show around Season 5. I didn't like anyone. They all deserved to rot in prison. So I quit watching.

Who can't love the soundtrack? And the versions they use of old classics - The beautiful "Never My Love" (remade Association song) and epic "Bohemian Raphsody" (remade Queen song) used on a torture scenes? You have to love the surrealistic aspect. It was worth the show just for those two aspects.

This. The show started out really great, and then just kept getting a little more worse and ridiculous with each season. Jax used to be the guy people rooted for. I don't know if anyone's really rooting for him anymore. Even if you look at this thread, people's comments seem to be more about how they want to see certain members die, not about how they want Jax to finally get out and make a good life for his sons.

I wonder if the last episode will see Wendy riding off into the sunset with the two kids. In the end, it wasn't the surgeon who had the brains and job possibilities who gets out with her man beside her, it's the crack w***e who gets out and takes the surgeon's and man's kids with her.

Also, just want to add, that I wish shows weren't afraid of really shaking things up. The premise behind True Detective is promising, and we'll see how the second season pans out - but I love that they're shaking it up with new leads and new story arcs each season. I wish Kurt Sutter hadn't been afraid to do that. I have a hard time imagining that this clusterf--k of a show was how he envisioned Sons ending when he started it - where the fans really just want to see everyone die and finish it off already. If he had completed the Jax arc in, say, season 3, then started up with another arc, it could have shaken the show up and made it really interesting.

I liked the premiere a lot.

Then again I tend to suspend my disbelief to another level when it comes to this show. My mind dismisses questions like Why would Tara's killer shoot the officer in the back yet fork her to death? and Why is Juice still around? He should have been gone within 2 days? He's just waiting for Gemma to get over the favor he did, view him as a threat and serve him up to Jax.

What I hope is that this season isn't as convoluted as the previous seasons have appeared. I hope that subplots are kept to a minimum but are well executed. Gemma-Tara went on way too long but I did not see it ending the way it did. I always hoped Tara would just get away with the boys.

Agree. The Jax-Clay story line could have been resolved sooner and different antagonists could have been introduced. Something to keep us cheering for Jax.

Loved the Bohemian Rhapsody remake.

If the premiere is any indication, this season will be brutal

P.S. Captain Obvious observation: Gemma Teller Morrow is ruthless.

I saw part of the interview after show with Charlie and Kurt. What I thought was interesting is the insight to Jax. Now with Tara dead, Jax doesn't have his moral compass anymore and can just 'let go'.
