Cleveland and Dallas have really shock me with all the homicides cases that are occurring yearly in these cities.Miami wasn't really a shock to me at all because alot of people know that it is very dangerous place to be.
I wouldn't let a television show like the First 48 (albeit a good show) sway my whole perception of a 1 million + population city. The show is based on who agrees to participate and not on cities that have the highest crime rate. It could easily take place in just about any city.
Ummm you do understand that they only film when there is a homicide to film right? They could film two years I'm anchorage make it 6 episodes and make anchorage look like inner city Detroit.
Just look up the stats if you actually want to know where there is a high homicide rate.
While what you guys say is true about The 1st 48 being able to film in ANY city and make it look dangerous, the cities that 1st 48 TYPICALY films their episodes in(Detroit, Dallas, Miami, Memphis, KC, Cincinnati, etc) these cities actually DO have high crime rates. It's not like their filming episodes in low-crime rate Smallville Iowa and doing 3-4 episodes on the ONE murder that happened there. The cities they film in DO have high-crime rates.
the only thing i learned from the first 48 is that the snitch code is a myth.
90 percent of these shows the people rat each other out like crazy. I mean you would think the way these rappers(fake thugs) speak that people in these cities would never cooperate with the cops.
also with the first 48 the true dangerous cities (new orlenas, camden , irvington etc) often never appear on the show.
i realize that when some guy trying to be funny said how come nyc isnt on it. Then i answered back saying well camden or new orleans or flint arent on it as well.
