Thanks for the update. I also love this show and wouldn't want to miss it. I think it is one of the few so called reality shows that is real. It is so interesting to see how the contestants manage in such harsh conditions and how they adapt to their surroundings. I don't know how they do it. I know I wouldn't even last a week.
Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. Polar bears seem to be the main threat to their safety, but they are a protected species, so killing one wouldn't be an option. Black bears OTOH are fair "game".
My husband is a fan
He watched the first episode and I could hear part of the story line sitting in the breakfast area
One of those women seems very well prepared for this type of adventure and it seems like there are more women qualifying for this contest each year

I am always interesting in the contrast between the women VS men contestants.
One of the ultimate tests of Alone is your mental fortitude. A lot of the contestants tap out because they can't stand being "alone" and miss their family, spouse, kids, etc. The one thing I've found is that a lot of the women are very strong in their mentality to tough out and block out this problem.
They do a good job with choosing a diverse group of characters to participate, each with their own strengths and weaknesses and definitely colourful personalities. Fun to watch.
