Set your VCRs!

I won't get a chance to watch until over the weekend, and I expect it to not be as good as the original. But I'll still watch it.

My guide says it's the 1987 movie. Sheesh. Glad I checked, I want to see the live production.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll be sure to watch. I like both Abigail Breslin and Debra Messing so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

I don't think it's live. But it is a remake, and according to an interview I saw with Deborah Messing, it goes a little more in depth than the original.

NBC has done a few live productions of stage musicals. I think FOX has done one as well. But I think this is meant to be more a remake of the original movie than the stage production.

It's a filmed version, not live. But apparently some of the characters sing too, Not just dance

I just tuned in so have no opinion yet, but I'm enjoying the tweets about how bad it is.

Why did ABC have to do a remake on this great movie? I am watching it on my DRV, but I am forwarding through parts. I always liked Abigail, but she is not for this part. Not even caring for Johnny......plus, there is NO chemistry between them.
What's next for ABC to remake.....Gone With The Wind???

Need to turn this off NOW

Completely agree. I couldn't stomach it after five minutes of watching. Johnny has no charisma or sex appeal.....he is NO match for Patrick Swayze. Abigail is a fave of mine but absolutely wrong for this part. Plus why did they have to change the dialogue?

It just had the feel of a high school play or an after school special.

This is one movie that just shouldn't be remade. Terrible.
