Sometimes it works fine. Changing channels, using the guide to see what's on other channels, etc. Everything normal.

Other times, the command is obeyed, but only after a delay of 5-10 seconds.

And other times, the command is simply ignored.

So it's not like a reprogram or recalibration issue. It's just that sometimes the genie doesn't respond at all, or responds slugishly.

Bought two other remotes. Same problem with them

Batteries are fresh.

Any other Directv folks experience this problem??

Some of the Directv receivers have a problem with lag. Usually once you get the receiver to respond it is pretty peppy until it sits for an extended time again. I dont recall the exact issue but as I recall it has to do with memory allocation and the software

Have you tried the direct tv remote control app for your phone? For some reason when our physical remote acts up the app works just fine.

It happens to me all the time. Funny, I thought maybe I was just pressing the buttons too fast.
Counting down the days to the end of my contract though, I am ready to move on. Come on October!
