Most of the stories of how much alcohol and drugs is consumed by the addict seems far fetched. A recent one I watched, a woman consumed 10-15 mini bottles of vodka a day.
That is far fetched to you? For a serious alcoholic, that is nothing at all. That's like 5 strong drinks, if that.
I agree. 15 shots of vodka is nothing for an alcoholic. I don't think they are making up the quantities that they say on Intervention. At least the quantities they use for the alcoholics seem about right based on the alcoholics I've known.
I saw the episode that the OP is referencing; the woman was buzzed all day and extremely drunk at night. Yes, it would take 15 mini bottles to do that after awhile.

15 shots is nothing. Tolerance increases dramatically the longer they drink (or do drugs), and some of the alcoholics I've seen on past episodes drink quarts of vodka a day. I can't believe some of them don't have near fatal cases of cirrhosis of the liver.

Alcoholics, serious ones, can walk around and be perfectly normal functioning with very high BACs, well well over the legal limit.
10-15 mini bottles is nothing. I have a friend that finally got help for his alcohol problems. He was drinking a large bottle of vodka daily and sometimes more. When he was admitted to the hospital 3 weeks ago his BAC was .43.

Why is that far fetched??
