What should I expect in an unemployment insurance fact finding interview in Iowa. The notice I received says its next Friday and there is an X next to me and my former employer as "attendees".
Part of the notice says it will ask about disciplinary actions or warnings received (which I received none of).
Does it help to write a statement and send it into the Unemployment office for the interviewer to read?
What are some good tips and suggestions for winning the fact finding interview and being awarded unemployment benefits?
Tell the truth. If you were let go, tell why. Write your statement. Is this an appeal? Usually an employer hearing is for an appeal, not the initial decision.
Nope, this is the first initial fact finding interview. I was fired, but do not agree I should have been. Disciplined? Yes! Fired, No! I have to prove that I was unjustly fired. Having said that... I have never done this before so I don't know if all parties will be on the line (me, former employer, and unemployment official) or if it will be just me and unemployment official. How do these things usually go? Hope that clears things up a little :-)
