I first started collecting unemployment on February 2010.
I been collecting for a year and two months. I really dont understand about tiers and extensions... two weeks ago i got my regular check but had $163 balance. My claim doesn't expire till February 2012 but i received my check of $163 last week with no form to mail back and in the top it said...

Your extension is exhausted. You may be eligible for another extension. No action is needed on your part. If you are eligible, it will be automatically filed for you, you woll he notified by mail, and you will be mailed claim forms.
Your claim balance after this payment is $0.00

I have gotten this kind of message on the top of the check and no mail form but it says instead that iam eligible but this one worries me because it says i may.

Has anyone received this kind of letter and has anyone been in this posisition???
I'm so broke only received one regular check this month and the second one of $163. And is been like 7 days since they mailed the last check i received and i havent received anything else.. i already called edd but they say i have to wait... just wondering if anyone has gone through this.

Yes I've gone through it! I'm in NJ. It took two weeks for them to send me another letter saying I was going to get it. Sounds to me.. the same will happen to you. Where are you?

NO PROBLEM....youre not ignorant..i just went through the same thing myself..send me a private message if you want more detail, but you have to call in, Tell them your Original Benefit Year Ended, Then they will continue you on your Extension (Whatever Tier you are in)..this is routine, and is done On everyone's 1 Year Anniversary. i am in NJ but the general concept is the same everywhere....Let me Know how it went, buddy

If you guys can share that information, it will be helpful to many others who have the same question.
Thanks in advance...
A little worried sick as I haven't been able to find employment and I have collected my 26 weeks. I received a letter from EDD stating they will auto-file my first extension, if I am eligible I will receive my continued claim forms.

How do I know if I am eligible and how long does it take until I find out?
