Hi,
What is the penalty, if any if one inadvertently forgets to list a job search to EDD while certifying claim weeks?

The worst is they don't pay benefits for that week and they force you to participate (no in person classroom sessions right now) to learn how to write a resume, look for employment, dress for interviews or any of the dozen torture classes they have available to make your life miserable for not following the rules. At best, nothing happens, life goes on as usual. Most often action is they just suspend payment until after you attend an (now online) class on how to look for work, afterwards they will release all payments due.
