Benefit Year Ending Date:03/14/2010

I recently verified my claim on the 14th and the payment was released and now in my bank account. I also realized that the "File A New Claim" button is back on the main page when you login. Does that mean I need to file a new claim? Also I kind of screwed up on my initial claim and ended up not taking any taxes out. How do I change it so that taxes get taken out now?

I wish i could help you. I'm from CA. but i had a similar situation as yours, when i called the UI office the lady told me just to play it safe i should re-file, with there being no penalties for trying. but state to states vary so i'd call the number of the NY office to find out. must be nice to have the direct deposit. CA is in the stone age with our system

In the case of refiling for a new claim, I would call and talk to someone at the unemployment office. If you don't qualify for another state 26-week claim, they will put you back on whatever tier of unemployment you are currently on. In Pennsylvania, I found out when my Benefit Year ended that they place my unemployment claim status as "inactive". Which means I had to call them, at which time they reactivated my claim.

You have to file a new claim. This happened to me. Do it by phone, when you're done, they will transfer you to a person. When that is done, your funds will be released.
