When I first saw a drawing of the large-scale structure of the cosmos, I thought it looked a lot like an enormous neural network. Here's an article on the topic -- not sure what if anything it means, but the similarity does indeed qualify as an unexplained mystery.
There was a young cosmos from Kent
Its strings were so long that they bent
Its neurons were big
In the shape of a pig
Which explains its terrible scent.
“The first odd thing we noticed was that some of the quasars’ rotation axes were aligned with each other—despite the fact that these quasars are separated by billions of light-years,”

The picture in that link is a simulation. Astronomers have a hard time seeing dark matter: https://iknowallnews.com/technology/...ble-telescope/. My feeling is that we still lack the tools to get a great look at any neuro networking, especially with dark matter, taking place in our universe. I quote from that link: "Not only does dark matter make up nearly 85 percent of all matter in the universe, according to the source, but also it is one of the hardest things to spot in space since it does not absorb, reflect or even emit light."
...a new study has found a connection between them and their filaments: the quasars seem to be spinning on axes parallel to the filaments that host them.
So the simulation illustrates the orientations that the study found.
Im not surprised by this and have a feeling, its all connected.
It also reminds me of the weird gold ball I saw in my backyard years ago...when I zoomed into the picture, it looked identical to a human blood cell.
Not sure what all this means, but I get the impression its all 'connected' somehow.
