moving to Cardiff to study - any advice re where to live etc? (places to live)

Hi everyone - I've just been told I've got a place on a broadcast journalism course at Cardiff uni. I'm naturally excited, but would like anyones advice, tips or info on Cardiff. Where are the safest places to live - I'd be getting the bus back late at times - so dont really want to be wandering through any notoriously dodgy parts at night. - also, if anyones been to Cardiff uni and has any tips about that - that'd be really useful as well. Thanks in advance

I would have thought that in your first year there would be halls of residence available.
