This is for the Brits, which areas of North America have you traveled to and thought to yourself, "This is just like England!" or anything along those lines. What would you say?
The closest has been Southern Washington State and Portland area, mainly because of the climate but thats about it. I've never visited a town in the US that even vaguely resembled anywhere in the UK.
Eastern Virginia would be my guess, though. Practically every city or county name is British. Counties with names along the lines of Prince George, King And Queen, Isle of Wight, Prince Edward, Prince William, King George, New Kent, Gloucester, York, Surry, Southampton, Sussex, etc. Jamestown being the first successful English settlement, although the first English child born in North America was born in present-day North Carolina (an unsuccessful colony, unlike Jamestown). Canada is obviously influenced by Britain but Virginia is much older. Some folks along the coasts of Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland still sound British, too.
