Temperatures in the 'hot spot' were estimated to be between 90 and 140 C (194-284 F). Some people managed to fry eggs on the ground with a temperature of 93 celcius.

It lasts for about 2 hours a day, and will be focussed in that area for the next 2-3 weeks. As autumn advances, the hot spot will move further south. It wasn't an issue in the peak summer because the sunlight was being focussed onto the roof of the building directly below.

Most offices have A/C. It's homes that don't (unless they are new).
