Hello! My family & I have been looking to move for awhile now but our business, which is a blessing but has kept us stuck in California. We've been looking into the Heber/Midway Utah area we're conservative but not religious & worried our children will be outcasts in school because majority residents are mormon. We're looking for land & buildable property we want to create a homestead for us & our parents. We want to keep out of the inversion layer aswell. What is the school system like? How restricted are the gun laws in Utah? Overall we want as much advice & info on everything please thank you!!

I can't speak for the religious aspect because I don't live there, but as a non-mormon with dark skin, I've been treated very well by the locals every time I've visited.

You'll be fine Heber/Midway has quit a bit of non-utah immigration and will be diverse enough. IMO if I had the $ and could work remotely 100% of the time (not commute to SLC/valley) this would be my first choice to live. The access to remote Utah mountains, Park City, Provo Canyon, and Jordanelle/Strawberry make it a highly desirable place to live. 10 years ago that area was a relative bargain but prices have risen 2-3x what the rest of Utah. Coming from Cali that might already be built into the equation for you.

"Constitutional carry" is a misnomer as all states restrict where carry is allowed. Utah allows open/concealed school carry with a Utah ccw permit while Idaho bans school carry completely.

I'd rather have permits. I used to like Idaho laws better than Utah because Idaho required a shooting test to obtain a permit while Utah does not, but now that Idaho has gone full retArdizona, I think Utah has taken the mantle as the state with the best gun laws.
