Once I get a new Graphics Cards (Thanks for destroying what was left of my graphics card NBA 2k11)
I hope to go back to playing the MMORPG's in my spare time.
I was a big World Of Warcraft Player.
I've also played Aion. Which sucked in my opinion.
I've played WoW on/off for years through vanilla up until Wrath of the Lich King. I had seven months real life time logged into my mage before I quit.
I've also played around with Conan, Warhammer, and Aion. I would try out Rift except I have a kid now and no more time. Aion sucked but looked pretty. Conan had potential but no player base and whacky pvp balance issues. Warhammer was the most fun next to WoW.
I've played final fantasy 11, 14 and lord of the rings.
11 was fun, but had too many time syncs (waiting for airships, etc).
14 is beautiful, but lacking content. I play mainly because it is free to play at the moment. I probably won't ever pay a subscription for it.
Lord of the rings is probably my favorite because it fits my casual play style the best. I can sign on for an hour and actually get something accomplished. I can still have fun without needing to play 20+ hours a week or feeling like it's another job.
I never cared for guilds that had stricter attendance policies than my employer.
The only one to date that held my attention long term was Final Fantasy XI. Between flexibility with jobs and content as well as the simple fact that I did not need a new character to try a new job it managed to generate enough content and enough gameplay to keep me interested literally for years.
By the time I did leave, mainly for reasons unrelated to the game itself, I had done most of even the endgame content the game had to offer. It has also gone through an interesting shift to the low man focus meaning that you and a group of people you are friends with can do most of the newer endgame events without a need for a large group which to me is a great option.
I hold hopes in a similar regard to content and the character numbers dynamic for Old Republic Online but sadly can not comment on that just yet... will have to wait for release.
... Rita... I love you like family... but recommending that glitch ridden pile if steaming dung even in jest... is just to much
Shrinking gun of dooooom.
Quite possibly, my most favoritest of favorite MMO's would be PSO or Ragnarok Online. I've played a toooooon of MMO's and like many of them, but these two hold a special place in my heart... nerdy/geeky as that sounds.

You know I did play RO for a good long while, though I admit not entirely legitimately since this was before they made it free. It was a solid and rather fun little game that you could do both alone or with friends and had a good deal of flexibility with the whole rebirth mechanic as well.
We could always try to get back into RO while waiting for ToR which I know you will be drafted to join us in one way or another.... come to the dark side... we have cookies.
