So we play as a guy named Arthur Morgan who is part of the Van der Linde gang (the same gang Marston was originally part of before the events of the previous game). I wonder how this game will tie in to the first one. Will it be a loose connection in the same way that GTA does it, or can we expect a deeper link.
It’s a prequel
Spoiler
Dutch, the leader of the gang who dies in the first game, is seen near the end of the trailer
It looks like the setting moved to the east, as we can see an alligator in the swamps.
The gang is likely to play a bigger role in this game since Arthur is an active member.
Another thing I noticed is that the game changed titles since it’s original reveal last year. Instead of it being an arabic 2, it uses a Roman II.
The lack of PC release could be one of two things; either it's a classic cash grab (for which R* is notorious) so people will buy it first on console then computer, or they're taking longer to create a version which will not endure the game-breaking hacking the online portion of GTA V has endured on PC.
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th, 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.
I never had a chance to play the first rdr and after finding out that the new one is a prequel I might have to play the first one. What I'm really waiting on is GOW 4.
I highly recommend it, especially if you're a fan of westerns. Considering the fact that there are so few games using a western setting, there likely won't be any fatigue for a long time.
I've heard good things about RDR and always wished they had released it for the PC. Having RDR2 come out for the PC will be of definite interest. If not, then... meh.
