My son wants to start playing video games and I need to know which game is a good one with which to start. Which one will help him get to know the controller with ease?

You cant go wrong with "Katamari Damacy" or its sequel "We love Katamari". Anyone who has played the game will tell you its great for kids and adults alike!

Thanks, ELO. I'll definitely give that a try. Any suggestions for sports games?

Here is a site with age categories and reviews sorted out:
PSP Games Reviews (http://tinyurl.com/5hvyv8 - broken link)
All the sports games are safe and the graphics are extraordinary!
My 16 year old son has been a game-a-holic since he was a young kid. He now has a PS3 and plays online games. It provides hours of entertainment and he has made friends from all around the world. If your son loves this activity, it can be a real source of joy to him. The initial expenses can be high....but it is worth it.

I'm not sure what your local version is, but we have the Game Stop chains here. You can not only purchase used games at a discounted rate, but after he is tired of a game, you can trade it in on credit towards another game with store credit.

I know some people worry that some games are too violent or an assortment of other gripes, but you know the maturity of your own child and what he can handle.

I hope this helped.
