Hi there everyone, I maybe a rarity on this forum as I'm from the U.K. - London. Basically, I am a writer about to leave for university to start a degree in the subject. I am currently writing a piece set in the U.S. - because I think it's a pretty fascinating place! Have been many times, but never to Virginia.
If I could have a moment of your time to ask some questions that may sound ridiculously obvious to natives but to me, a Londoner born and bred they are gold for my writing!
My protaganist was born in Brookneal, near Lynchburg?
If anyone has any information on Brookneal such as the look of it, is it rural, urban, honestly even down to the type of trees that line the streets? The brickwork? It may seem silly, but I would love to know :-)
Is it conservative or democrat?
What are the people like?
What do young people do for fun?
Any funny opinions towards the place, even if they sound extreme or silly, they give my writing a 'real' feel - seeing as I as yet have no opinions of the place!
Any additional information would be greatly received, thank you very much.
Molly

"Read ten thousand volumes and walk a thousand miles", you may then become a writer, among others ...
Where are you?
