I had the telephone interview about 2 weeks ago for a teaching job in VA by the HR. I have not heard anything from the school district so far. I think I blew up the only interview I got for this year. I am an experience teacher but I am kind of shy and reserve in nature. And it is hard for me to express my opinion and knowlege with full confident. I need help. What should I do to build my self confident to face another interview?

Learning how to spell would be a great start, brush up on your grammar.

I agree with Flamingo. You are in competition with others. If your verbal skills mirror your writing ability, you will need to make some improvements.

Apart from the spelling/grammatical errrors, if what you wrote is true then you are simply in the wrong profession. Should seriously consider an alternative career, and I am saying this with all due respect.

A teacher who is shy and reserved? Every teacher I know has great abilities in speaking to others, standing up in front of a classroom/group of people, etc.

BTW, did you call the office and ask about the status of the position? Rather than blow it off, find out first! You'll have to be assertive in this -- competition is rough these days for all kinds of jobs.

Also, if you did do well on the telephone interview, my hunch is that you'll be called in for an in-person interview.

Good luck (hope you got it)!
