My future husband and I are contemplating a move to the VB area... We are both young 30s looking to start and raise a family within the next year or two. Can anyone recommend neighborhood/cities etc to avoid and cities we should look into? A safe neighborhood with good schools is a must. Thanks!

Live and work on the same side of the Harbor/James River. The Bridge-Tunnels are totally unreliable for a smooth commute.

We want to find a place that is no more than a 45 minute commute to VB. I don't want the hustle and bustle of a major city. (that's why we are leaving NY) but would like to be close enough to some night life. We want a good family neighborhood, a house ($350k max) that has some property. I don't want to be right on to of my neighbor. I'm not really sure what else to else. Does that help?
