My wife and I are moving to Germantown in 3 weeks from Austin, Texas. So this entire way of living will be a culture shock to say the least for both of us! I've tried to do as much logistical research as possible about commuting from our new apartment to the Fannie Mae HQ on Wisconsin Ave.

I will be within walking distance to a MARC station from our new home, but where does the line go to from there? Is it possible to switch from the MARC to the Red Line at Shady Grove station and then off to Tenley Station...within walking distance to Fannie Mae? What really is the best way to get to Fannie Mae via the two choices for rail lines.

This is kind of a scary transition for me so any advise would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

JF

To answer the question: yes you can transfer from MARC to Metro at Rockville. I,m not sure about at Shady Grove, but Rockville is one stop from Shady Grove on the Red Line.
