I would think that the DC area has every restaurant or store that exists--except for stores/restaurants which are only found in a small geographical area.....
If they don't, what major dining & shopping venues would you like to see in the area?
Any Chinese restaurant that serves 'Almond Chicken' like you can get in Detroit or Seattle areas. Don't confuse that with 'chicken with almonds' which is not the same thing.
WAWA. hands down. no question. they need them IN the city, IN arlington, etc.; the closest one is about 10 miles outside the city...aside from that you gotta go to delaware or somewhere far away.

1. Walmart- cause I get tired of driving to Maryland every Sunday.
2. Waffle House- I need a new place to eat when drunk and nothing like old faithful waffle house.
I'm confused by some of the answers on here. I thought the OP asked about the DC AREA? There are plenty of Walmarts in the area and plenty of Wawas. If the OP said DC then that would be something different.
I would have to co-sign on the Waffle House. I also would like Cook-out (NC burger chain).

Walmart, yes. They're inside the Beltway and have a few locations just outside the Beltway.
Wawa, on the other hand, is mostly limited to the ex-urbs. The only one that is somewhat close to DC is the one near the Beltway in Capitol Heights. After that, the closest one is Woodbridge.
As for Waffle House, there is one 30 miles from DC in Dumfries. Not really DC area, but it's not a terrible drive once in a while.
