I'm moving from Florida and was wondering the safety, atmosphere in Eckington. I've researched on this website but have not seen any recent posts on the neighborhood.

Is it safe? I am looking at the the area on 3rd street between T and R.
I am a white 25 year old male and will probably have a similar roommate.

How's the area? I've seen (in past posts) that there are not many options for groceries and eating. Is that still the case?

Thanks

How familiar/comfortable are you with urban, inner-cty neighborhoods?

Eckington pros: convenient location, good housing stock, (relatively) affordable
Eckington cons: Transitioning neighborhood where crime remains an issue, lack of commercial development
