Also note that the link I gave you says that the blooming starts several days before the peak and can last as long as 14 days, but often shorter than that if there are high winds or other weather factors.
So basically, due to the early bloom this year from the warm weather, don't expect to be able to see many blossoms after the first few days of April.
Good luck seeing them this year! I would try and get there really early during a weekday, you can get some beautiful pictures of the Tidal Basin.
I went during the peak the first three years I was here (which usually was more or less on the same dates as the parade, but I guess not this year), but now I just can't get myself to go anymore. Its incredibly crowded and the trip on the metro is torture.
But one thing's for sure, DC never looks more beautiful.
Well I can only in the weekend unfortunately, so...I hope I can still see them...

Go THIS or NEXT weekend. The very high temperatures recently mean that the blooms may be short-lived. Yesterday, maybe 10% of the trees were already in full bloom, and the daily difference is astonishing.
Traffic may be difficult this weekend; there's a marathon and associated street closures on Saturday, and Metro has track work on all five lines. Still, the best way to get here is by Metro. A walk around the Tidal Basin from the Smithsonian station is just three miles, including getting to/from the station.
