I was so hoping you found a easy answer to getting a refund from metro.

So i far metro owes me $15. $5 for a card that just stopped working at any entrance, but is able to be to filled at a kiosk. $10 for a busted smartcard dispenser that ate my money.

It's money, but it's principle, and I understand it. For some people, it means a hell a lot more than the money.

You just need to pick up the phone, and call this number: 1-888-762-7874

Then explain your situation to the lady, and be nice about it. Make sure you have all of the numbers, and information before you call.

DC Metro is pretty good about this stuff. There is a lot of lead way for things like this.

good luck, and don't muck it up.

And I can tell you, I'll pay $10,000 to make sure I get my $1 back, if that was against my principle.

Thomas Jefferson said, "In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock".

Franklin better described it as "Penny wise and pound foolish."

If you are near Metro Center, they have an office/ticket booth just outside the gates. They have a customer service agent that deals with this type of stuff.
