I read in the Weekend paper that the Fairgrounds on Half Street will have an 18-foot projection screen showing the game with full audio outside for people without tickets, and that drinks will be $5 from the 3rd to seventh inning. Is this free to get to the fairgrounds and watch? Is there someplace to sit or do I need a picnic blanket? Any food trucks outside the ballpark where I can grab something without going into a restaurant?
Unless they've decided to charge a cover as a special event, the Fairgrounds is usually free to enter. They have benches/tables under some of the tents, but they're limited and a lot of the space is standing room. My guess is that the screen will be on the stage, which is surrounded by standing room. There are a few food trucks inside of the fairgrounds.
For future reference (c'mon, beat the Giants!), the Fairgrounds and Yards Park both set up large screens, food trucks, etc.
