I am the owner of a condo in DC that is rented out.
The resident manager of the building authorized a repair for $500 without my permission. I had asked for an estimate only (and have that request in an email). Do I have legal ground to refuse paying the contractor who performed the work? OR should I pay for the work and then take the condo association to small claims court? I would have done the work myself if I had known the estimate was $500 - it was a simple job.
