We are appealing to our fellow gays and lesbians who reside in DC. We are flying in from Wisconsin and are looking for someone who may have a spare room available for us to stay on the 19th. We thank you in advance for your consideration. We hope you too will be going to the Inauguration.
That post was appropriate, Yac. It was a commentary for the benefit of this poster to help him/her realize the absurdity of inserting sexual orientation of the host as a qualifier for finding a place to stay at this late date. I understand making it clear that the seekers are homosexual to avoid any confusion, but homosexuality is a dime a dozen in DC and there are certainly plenty of straight people that might be willing to offer an extra bedroom or sofa.
I was just trying to help. Sorry for not being clear.
While this might be true, this is not a place you should be discussing this. You are free to do this in a new thread, but here either try to help the OP or don't post at all.
Yac.
Wow, My partner and I were excited to have found city-data and all of the threads around the country. We are extremely surprised though that nomatter what we ask as lasbians from other gays or lesbians we are constantly attacked for our requests. Is city-data in general this homophobic or are we just posting in the wrong places on city-data. So your aware, our requests so far have been for fellow gay and lesbian bowlers, hikers, travelers, dinner partners, and this current post for DC. Just wondering what all of the hostility is about and wether their is a fair percentage of other gays or lesbians even using city-data as a resource. By the way, we both have plenty of straight friends and have no prejudice towards anyone, but we at times have a preference to request variety in our life considering we live in a predominantly white and straight community.

In case you were referring to me, I was not in any way attacking you. I just chose my words poorly.
I hope you find a place to stay, though. It'd be a shame to miss such an historic event for that reason. People are renting their places out if you can't find anywhere else.
Best of luck to you!
