My girlfriend and I are looking to move to the area between Washington D.C. and Baltimore. do you guys have any suggestions about the smaller towns that are in that area. We are in our mid-20's, like to get out of the house and enjoy our small town or take in the bigger cities. We are also looking to rent when we do move up there. I'm looking to go back to school and she is going to try to start her career. Any advice is much appreciated. I plan on visiting the area and any towns that are suggestioned within the next two months. Thanks

Bryan

Columbia is a very nice and mostly green place, but it's quite a bit closer to Baltimore than it is to DC, and transit options aren't great. Might be useful to look at some of the towns along the MARC rail lines that would give you access to rush hour train service to either city. Bowie and Laurel would fit the bill...

Columbia, more like 20 minuets to Baltimore and 40 to Washington. Laurel is more half way, and cheaper. What fields are you two looking to study/work in? depending on what it is it might behoove you to move right into either city, as they foster different industries.

40 minutes to dc from Columbia.....ummmm,which route are you taking? Maybe rush hour. I can get to Balt in 40 minutes from Silver Spring. Been doing it for 20 yrs. As far as transit, if you work in DC their are plenty of Grey Hound type buses that travel from DC to Columbia throughout the day. Laurel is cool too, but other than route 1 their is nothing to Laurel.

gl poster.....
