How would you save Lima from itself? The climate has generally mild and agreeable temperatures, but aside from the temperatures the climate has become quite notorious. If you could do one thing to change it, what would you do?
The temperatures are the one thing that seems most off about it to me - average high below room temperature at sea level in the tropics? I'd raise the average temperatures by 15*F year round, but barring that, I'd probably increase the rainfall by 100x.
Does make it more unstable and variable also mean increased seasonal variation?
I'll still choose that option. It's way too cloudy but still tolerable. It's too dry, but that's the least of its problems and too dry is better than too wet for me. The humidity is annoying but tolerable and reducing doesn't change how boring it is. At least if it's variable, there could be some 50/40 days in the winter or 95 degree days in summer. That would be the biggest improvement off these options.

Nope, it just means it would be something like Paraguay or Mato Grosso, where the temperatures look seasonless, but there is a ton of day to day variation

Double the sun hours and suddenly it'd be the world's favourite climate. I'd still hate it but yeah.
