Nashville's 109F was recorded in June so it must be for the whole summer.

LA hasn't recorded more than 82°F in the whole summer? That sounds unlikely.

Downtown LA recorded 88°F so far this summer, and an impressive -9°F early this July. 82°F might be for a coastal station; LA's airport recorded 83°F so far and its average July has been 72°F.
