I clicked on monthly data and while I got a page and the data loaded, I never saw a map???

Is that because i ma not in the US, or because I lack an application of some kind?

I called it up in the US.....and I have seen this page before...I am a weather forecaster who works in North Dakota near Manitoba border. There is just a table of data...no map or graph.

Okay, just tried it. I thought I was having the same problem, but the map showed up for me after like a minute or so.

for las vegas, i bookmark twc's monthly data page:

monthly data, weather.com/.

shows observed highs and lows, and a 3 day forecast for today, and the next 2 days. comes in handy to see how far off the temperature forecast has been (and how far off it will continue to be for the rest of the week). was handy to check during our extreme heat warning period, last few days of june and first couple days of july when we matched the all time record high at mccaran airport, official las vegas temperature.

For European Data Records, like wind, sunshine, temperature, snow cover or even climatological terms like ice days and so on... you might try the European Climate Accessment Dataset here, it's free of charge and there are several thousand stations already included from all over Europe.

In case you haven't noticed yet. NOAA has done an AWESOME just at revamping the climate section. Now available with each NWS Office. They added the "NowData" section.

Here's how to get there...

1. Click on your location with this link. http://www.weather.gov/

2. The page will look like this if they haven't updated the main page yet.. Just go under climate section and click on local.

2a. If they updated the page it will look like this... just click on Climate and Past Weather

3. Once your in there click on NowData and whalah. Just be careful of missing data with the co-op sites. Typically first few are the "main" locations with quality controlled data. With Burlington there's only 1. "Burlington Area".

Places like Mt Holly has 4. (Philly, Atlantic City, Allentown, Wilmington). Look for the location that says "Area". That includes the main site from beginning of records. Don't forget to put "por" as beginning date to go back to beginning of records.

Have Fun!

This is the best & safest place (and NCDC) to get data from. Be careful of other sites which have errors and not quality controlled.. National Weather Service gets their records/data using whats available through this.
