Orestiada is a town in north-east Greece in the region of Evros near the city of Edirne in Turkey. Winters are relatively cold and damp and summers are hot and dry with occasional thunderstorms. The town is quite snowy for a lowland place in Greece averaging 11 days of snowfall (only snow) per year and around 15 to 18 snowlying days. It has 106 days of precipitation per year with 565 mm. Also it is quite windy. The absolute maximum temperature in the period 1982-2009 was 43,5 C and the absolute minimum temperature was -20,2 C.
As a winter lover i would love that, is probably the best climate you can get in the lowlands.
Could be still somewhat colder to me. However the summer is too hot, gets a C+ for that reason.
C. Basically the same climate of Bologna, Italy. Just slightly drier and more "continental".
Not bad but I prefer milder winters.
Northern Greece is notably colder than Italy at the same latitude.
