Latest sunset is 7:27pm on the 8th or 9th of January. We don't observe daylight saving here so our earliest sunrises are around 5:03am on the 5th of December.
Ukraine has ridiculously early sunsets, at least in the east. Donetsk has a sunset of 20:32 at solstice, while Pareeeee at the same latitude has 21:58 sunsets.
Stockholm has ridiculously early sunrises, the sun rises at 3:31 at solstice, while Turku, being just some 390 km east sees its earliest sunrise at 4:01.

It's because Eastern Ukraine is in wrong time zone. Astronomically, it belongs to Moscow Time zone, but for simplicity all Ukraine uses the same time zone (Kiev time). But I don't think that's a bad thing. The earlier the sun sets, the earlier the heat goes away.
