In YOUR COMMUNITY when does the trees first turn green in the Spring.

I will start: In Fairfax VA the trees usually are green by the 20th of April. But this year I suspect it will be the first of May due to the incredibly cold Spring weather. In Central Minnesota where I grew up the cold weather did not allow the trees to green up till late May and they were bare again in late September.

How about your community?

Now. Some trees are popping out already. All the daffodils are in flower as well. Although fully green won't occur till mid/late April depending on the weather.

Even during early warmth, such as last year, the vast majority of trees will remain bare, and won't start blooming until early April at the very earliest. A select few will have some leaves by late March if the weather permits (definitely not this year, everywhere is still barren, and the grass isn't growing yet).

Varies year to year, but first week of April is the most reliable date. This year seemed early - last week of March.

Usually we see the first blooming cherries before we see the leaves.

On average, I'd say the first trees start to get leaves here around during the third week of April, and by the 30th almost every tree is leafed out. However, because of the cold March this year, I predict that we won't start seeing leaves until the 24th or so, and they won't be fully leafed until the end of the first week of May.

The trees are usually green by early April, but this year it will happen by late April or early May because of the very long winter.

It starts in mid or late April, then done by mid May. For some species, the leaves start to turn colors about a week before labor day.
